ABOUT
Joel Andre Bouchard has been designing graphics for clients since 2006. He founded Macabre Media as a brand in 2014 and made it a Maine LLC in 2026. He started out making fliers for pro wrestling shows and church events. He has since made concert posters for country stars like John Michael Montgomery and Darryl Worley, and for Sib Hashian and Barry Goudreau of the band Boston. He has also designed for bands including Acheron, Love/Hate and Dangerous Toys, and his work has been featured in Decibel, Legacy, Break Out and Deaf Forever. His work has a retro look rooted in 1980s and 1990s horror, sci-fi and pop culture, but the files he delivers are clean and ready for print or screen. He also works as a photographer and videographer, and he digitizes old VHS tapes and Super 8 and 8mm film reels. Clients know him as easy to work with: he communicates clearly and doesn’t make the job harder than it needs to be.
EXPERIENCE
Founder & Lead Designer, Macabre Media, LLC | Maine | 2006–Present
(Designing for clients since 2006; founded Macabre Media as a brand in 2014; organized as a Maine LLC in 2026)
Joel got his start designing event fliers and promotional posters for independent pro wrestling shows across the United States, along with fliers and printed materials for church events and community gatherings. That event work grew into concert posters for various top Maine musical acts, American Idol performers such as Josiah Dyer and Colby Swift, chart-topping country stars like John Michael Montgomery and Darryl Worley, and rock artists such as Sib Hashian and Barry Goudreau of the legendary band Boston. He has also designed posters and promotional graphics for comedy shows and for basketball, softball and golf tournaments.
In music, he has created artwork for bands including Acheron, Love/Hate and Dangerous Toys, and his work has appeared in Decibel, Legacy, Break Out and Deaf Forever. He has also designed promotional one-sheets for new releases, used by music distributors such as Select-O-Hits.
His client list also includes record labels, restaurants, non-profits and corporate businesses, and he often works directly with the business owner from the first idea to the final files. He designs T-shirts and packaging for physical media in a range of formats, from CD covers to DVD cases. He has even designed VHS slipcovers, taking on the extra challenge of assembling each one by hand after the design is done. He also does front-end web development in HTML5 and CSS3 and builds custom WordPress themes.
